From pose to actions, how deep learning can be harnessed for measuring animal behavior

Behavior is an essential component to understanding neural function. As part of our quest to better understand the brain, we develop new technology that helps us better measure behavior and neural data. In my talk I will describe our efforts to build state of the art tools for animal pose estimation and beyond. Specifically, I will discuss the latest updates to DeepLabCut, how we can harness data from across users, and how new dimensionality reduction methods are posed to make big strides in behavioral analysis.
